[origin: EP2210680A2] The bending press (1) has a machine frame (5) and side flanges (7,8), where a fixed bench beam (12) is provided for distancing the side flanges. A press beam (16) is formed from a driving beam (27) connected with a driving unit (17,18). A bending beam (30) is movably connected by an elastic coupling element (36). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a bending press, particularly edging brake.
