[origin: WO2009065391A2] The invention relates to a shelf element (1) which is to be releasably connected to at least one other shelf element (1). Said shelf element (1) comprises at least two parallel, spaced-apart plates and at least one plate that connects said parallel plates. At least one of the plates is a fastening plate which at least partly forms at least one device that is to be connected to the other shelf element (1). In the shelf element (1) according to the invention, the device that is to be connected to the other shelf element (1) is slit-shaped. Said device is additionally used for receiving a connecting element (21) which allows two shelf elements (1) to be connected to each other. The invention further relates to a shelf (20) comprising at least two of said shelf elements (1) which are releasably fastened to each other by means of at least one connecting element (21).
