[origin: EP2213208A1] The device has a front module (2) with a conveying unit to convey commodity products to a central module (3). The central module has a product control station comprising an electronic price storage device between the central module and a rear module (5). The rear module stores and evacuates the products. The central module has a configuration changing unit (4) for changing configuration with respect to a circulation direction of the products, such that a checkout operator (8) on one side of a cash payment cabinet (1) or a consumer (9) on another side uses the electronic device alternatively.
