Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2213380A1] The tool has a slotted nozzle (2) including two lips (3, 4), and a nozzle slot (5) formed between the lips. The nozzle slot includes an alternate open area (6) for forming a strip (7) coated with a application mass (M) and closed areas (8) to form a strip (9) that is not coated with the application mass. The closed areas are formed by inserts (10) that are inserted from a side of discharge of the application mass into the nozzle slot. The inserts are extended into the nozzle slot and made of copper or aluminum sheet, where the lips are made of steel. An independent claim is also included for a method for lamellar coating a liquid application mass on a web-shaped carrier.
