[origin: EP2068082A1] Machine component comprises a base body (40) made from a base material with a cladding (42) made from an application material having a hardness and/or a toughness which is more than that of the base material in a partial region of its upper surface. The cladding has cladding elements (54) which are applied on the base body in a longitudinal direction tilted toward the main flow direction (56) of a hot gas passing through the base body. An independent claim is also included for a gas turbine with a number of the above machine components.
