[origin: WO2009070183A1] The present invention is directed to a light pipe that is used to illuminate a portion of a surface of a set top box when the instrument power is turned on. The light pipe can be molded for example from plastic. The light pipe should advantageously be a good carrier of photons down a linear path. Additionally, light pipe should allow for light to be transmitted out the sides of the part.
