[origin: EP2216465A2] The device (10) has longitudinal arms (12.1, 12.2) arranged at a distance from each other, and a fixed overlapping unit (18) arranged between the arms in a lower end area. The overlapping unit overlaps guardrail bars of a scaffolding system in a form-fit manner based on geometries. An abutment unit (16) is arranged at a distance above the overlapping unit between the arms and supported against an effect of a spring unit. The abutment unit is longitudinally movable at the arms and engages cross bars of the scaffolding system from below in a form-fit manner based on geometries. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving a guardrail device.
