[origin: WO2010063429A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for coating web-shaped materials with a coating medium. The device (1) comprises a rotating transfer roller (3) having depressions on the lateral surface (5) thereof for transferring the coating medium, a coating chamber (12), and a nozzle carrier (14) having a plurality of bores (15, 15') located upstream of the coating chamber (12) in the movement direction of the transfer roller (3). Coating medium streams from said bores (15, 15') in a free jet. Said device (1) provides an even and reproducible coating of the web with different coating thicknesses.
