Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009073993A1] The device for monitoring a plurality of workstations (3-5) of a ring spinner (1) has at least one yarn tester (25), which is disposed on a processing machine (2) for the yarn (22), and a monitoring unit (17), which is connected to the yarn tester (25). In order to ensure a reliable, error-free, and cost-efficient identification of the workstations (3-5) of the ring spinner (1), a probe head (8) that can be guided past the workstations (3-5) is provided for the contactless pickup of signals, said probe head being connected to the monitoring unit (17) and comprising a first sensor (30) for monitoring the workstations and a second sensor (31) for the data collection on cop tubes (28) at the workstations.
