Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1988040A1] The feeder (1) has A-shaft (2), B-shaft (3) and C-shaft (4) that are opened to open individual signatures (7), and to deposit the signatures on a gathering chain (15). A delay element moves in the same direction as a gripper drum (13) and at a conveying speed less than a speed of the gripper drum. A press-on device is arranged upstream of a stop element to press the signatures released by the gripper against the delay element and to slow down the individual signatures upstream of the stop element to an approximate speed of the delay element before the signatures hit the stop element.
