The carbonization device comprises a carbonization chamber (6) connected over a feed line (2) with a reservoir (1) for carburizing gas dissolved in a solvent, where the carbonization device is operated with a pressure of 1-100 mbar in an interior of the carbonization chamber and the pressure is less than the atmospheric pressure, and a device for the separation of the solvent from the carburizing gas, where the separation device is interconnected in the feed line between the carbonization chamber and the reservoir. The device is designed for a temperature of 900-1050[deg] C. The carbonization device comprises a carbonization chamber (6) connected over a feed line (2) with a reservoir (1) for carburizing gas dissolved in a solvent, where the carbonization device is operated with a pressure of 1-100 mbar in an interior of the carbonization chamber and the pressure is less than the atmospheric pressure, and a device for the separation of the solvent from the carburizing gas, where the separation device is interconnected in the feed line between the carbonization chamber and the reservoir. The device is designed for a temperature of 900-1050[deg] C. The separation device has a collection container (4) and/or a discharge line or an evaporator for the separated solvent or is connected with the collection container and/or discharge line or the evaporator. A cryogenic and mechanical condensation device (3) and/or an adsorption filter is provided as the separation device. An independent claim is included for a method for the carbonization of steel.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Aufkohlung von Stahl mit einer Aufkohlungskammer, die über eine Zuleitung mit einem Reservoir für in einem Lösungsmittel gelöstes Kohlungsgas verbunden ist und für einen Betrieb mit einem Druck im Inneren der Aufkohlungskammer, der kleiner ist als der Atmosphärendruck, insbesondere mit einem Druck aus dem Bereich von 1 bis 100 mbar ausgelegt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Einrichtung zur Separation des Lösungsmittels von dem Kohlungsgas in der Zuleitung zwischen Aufkohlungskammer und Reservoir zwischengeschaltet ist. Des Weiteren betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Aufkohlung von Stahl.
