[origin: EP2218869A2] The device has rungs (1) attached between ladder stringers, and feet (2) i.e. plastic parts, attached at a lower end of the ladder stringers in a usage position of the device. Each foot exhibits a change element (23) that is brought before a supporting surface (26) from a resting position into the usage position to arrange a ladder between the supporting surface and a floor e.g. wooden floor, and to form another supporting surface of the device in the usage position. The former supporting surface is alternative to the latter supporting surface.
