[origin: EP2218967A2] The method involves setting a boiler temperature-desired value (T-SOLL), supplying a heat to a boiler by a burner. A current boiler temperature actual value (T-IST) is continuously or repeatedly determined. A switch-off integral is determined by an integral formation depending on control deviation difference over a time period when the boiler temperature actual value is larger than the boiler temperature-desired values. The burner is switched-off at a time period when a threshold value is equal to a value of the switch-off integral for stopping the supply of heat by the burner. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating a running time of a burner comprising a boiler temperature-desired value setting unit.
