[origin: WO2009056758A2] The invention relates to a manhole cover (2) that comprises a frame (4) defining a frame central axis (X-X) and provided with a frame knuckle (26), and a frame covering member (6) provided with a covering member knuckle (28), the knuckles being adapted so as to allow the pivoting of the covering member (6) relative to the frame (4) into a disengagement position, the frame knuckle (26) and the covering member knuckle (28) being adapted to be disengaged from each other when the covering member (6) is in the disengagement position. The manhole cover of the invention includes a member for blocking the knuckle disengagement, wherein the blocking member includes a base body (42) and a leg (44). The leg (44) is oriented radially towards the outside relative to the frame central axis (X-X).
