Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2072757A1] The blade (2) has a blade root (5) and a vane (4) that comprises a suction side (6), a pressure side, a leading edge and a flow-off edge (9). An erosion protection shield (10) is arranged in front of the flow-off edge for preventing water droplet erosion. The shield is arranged along a longitudinal alignment (11) of the vane. The vane comprises chord length, and the shield has breadth of 5 percentages to 75 percentages of the chord length. The shield is connected with the blade root in a force fit manner or by material connection.
