[origin: WO2009074616A1] This atomic clock comprises means (8, 9, 10) for applying both a static magnetic field and two oscillating magnetic fields, all mutually perpendicular, in a magnetic shield (11). The amplitudes and frequencies of the oscillating magnetic fields may be chosen so as to annihilate the energy variations between sub-transition levels of the excited atoms and to reinforce the clock output signal, and with low sensitivity to defects in regulation.
