Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2221576A2] The method involves arranging a retaining and sealing band (14) on a sectional region of a retaining device (9), which is segmented by two longitudinal slots. A drive element (5) is connected with a guide cage (6) of a face sabot (4), where the guide cage is segmented by the slots. Breaking points are attached to the band from inner side of the band using a laboratory tool after inserting the band on the retaining device and before mounting the cage, where the slots are used for laterally guiding the laboratory tool. An independent claim is also included for a laboratory tool for performing a method for inserting breaking point in a ring like retaining and sealing band of a sabot projectile.
