[origin: DE102009004185B3] The method involves converting an input signal (e) into an intermediate signal (a11) according to conversion algorithm i.e. linear compression algorithm. The input signal is converted into another intermediate signal (a13) according to another conversion algorithm i.e. non-linear compression algorithm, parallel to conversion of the input signal according to the former conversion algorithm. An output signal (a) is formed from the intermediate signals with a mixing ratio that depends on the result of classification. An independent claim is also included for a hearing device comprising a conversion device.
