[origin: WO2009075569A1] The invention relates to a straddle carrier which is provided with wheels for moving freight containers across a yard. The wheels comprise at least two steerable wheels. The straddle carrier further comprises at least one portal frame, as well as at least one frame which is movable with respect to said portal frame for picking up, lifting and/or carrying a freight container, using gripping means. The movable frame is arranged for picking up, lifting and/or carrying at least two parallel, side-by-side freight containers at a time with the longitudinal sides of the two freight containers facing each other.
