[origin: WO2009074456A1] The invention relates to a separator (1) comprising the following: a spinning drum (2) having a vertical axis of rotation (D) and an inlet line for goods to be spun, a drive spindle (3) for the spinning drum rotatably supported in a housing (6) by means of a bearing, said housing being elastically supported on a machine frame (8), a drive unit, a lubrication system for lubricating the bearing formed as a lubricant circuit, and a reservoir tank (21), wherein the entire lubricant circuit with the lubricant reservoir tank (21) is disposed axially above the drive unit (10), wherein lubricant can be delivered directly from the lubricant reservoir tank (21) to the area of the journal bearing or the area above the journal bearing, through a lubricant channel formed in or on the housing (6) and extending into the area of or above the journal bearing (4).
