Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009087170A1] The invention relates to liquid crystal (18) spectacles (10) used for the three-dimensional viewing of digital video content from a projector. The viewing spectacles (10) only include a first rectilinear polariser (12) and a second rectilinear polariser (13) respectively having polarisation axes P1 and P2, the polarisation axes P1 and P2 being parallel or perpendicular relative to each other. Furthermore, the liquid crystal (18) has an adapted intrinsic tilt angle a (preferably 22.5°) and is used in a half-wave blade configuration. The liquid crystal (18) further includes first and second separate areas (181, 182) each respectively located opposite a vision axis. The first area (181) includes a first director and the second area (182) includes a second director (182). The first and second directors are oriented so as to define an adapted angle between them (preferably 45°). This enables a "non-one-eyed" vision while waiting for the projection of the film to start, and to obtain the best possible contrast between the two eyes of the user when viewing the digital video content.
