[origin: EP2228145A2] The method involves guiding cleaning fluid to a suction system (10), and closing the suction system in an area of a press chamber of a press. A part of the suction system is rinsed using the cleaning fluid, and the cleaning fluid is discharged to the press chamber. Rinsing of the suction system using the cleaning fluid is terminated when a level of the cleaning fluid in the suction system reaches a preset value. The cleaning fluid is excited with ultrasonic waves. A level sensor (30) is assigned to a collecting line (24) that is connected with a control device. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning a suction system for a rotary press comprising a suction nozzle in a press chamber.
