The book binding machine (1000) has a control apparatus (1070) that is connected to a cover contact crimping station (1050). The cover contact crimping station is provided with a management apparatus (1051) for inspecting the alignment, position and size of the book cover (101,101'). The control apparatus is provided to acquire the test result of the management apparatus to control the back stitching station (1040) having a drive device.

Die Anmeldung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Klebebinders (1000) mit einer Maschinensteuerung (1070), mit einem Buchblocktransportsystem (1001) einer Beleimstation (1030), einer Fälzelstation (1040) und einer Umschlaganlege- und - andrückstation (1050). Dabei erfolgt zuerst ein Überprüfen der Funktionsfähigkeit der Umschlaganlege- und -andrückstation (1050). Bei negativem Ergebnis der Prüfung erfolgt ein Aufbringen eines Fälzelstreifens auf einen Buchblockrücken in der Fälzelstation (1040). Dadurch wird eine Verunreinigung der Umschlaganlege- und - andrückstation (1050) durch Klebstoff verhindert. Gegenstand der Anmeldung ist auch ein Klebebinder (1000) zum Durchführen dieses Verfahrens.
