[origin: EP2230461A2] The method involves detecting a contact of a control element with a hand by a contact sensor i.e. capacitive contact sensor, and omitting a minimum quantity of gas with temporal restriction for satisfying safety requirement of a gas burner (16). Gas supply is started by actuation of the control element for adjusting burner capacity, and the gas burner is ignited after completing the adjustment of the burner capacity and/or performance level and/or after a predetermined time by the control element. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling a gas burner and/or a gas stove.
