[origin: WO2009083340A1] The invention relates to a fuel injector comprising an injector housing (2) in which a nozzle needle (4) can be axially displaced, said needle cooperating with a valve piston (16) that comprises an end (15) that faces an end (5) of the nozzle needle (4). In order to provide a fuel injector that has a long service life and that is simple and cost effective to manufacture, centering and/or guide surfaces (10, 14) are provided at the mutually facing ends (5, 15), said surfaces being directly adjacent to one another.
