[origin: WO2009092711A1] The invention pertains to an impeller (5) for a pump, in particular for a cooling water pump of an internal combustion engine, comprising an impeller body (5a) with a hub (11), a suction-side cover disc (14) with a central opening (15) for the suction of a feed medium and with at least one vane (13) connected to the suction-side cover disc (14) in one-piece construction and having an inner section (13a) near the central opening (15) and an outer section (13b) near the suction-side cover disc (14), wherein the vane (13) is curved in three dimensions in the inner section (13a) and is designed essentially in two dimensions in the outer section (13b). In order to achieve both ease of manufacturability and high efficiency, the impeller (5) comprises a pressure-side cover disc (24) designed as a separate part, said disc being solidly connected to the impeller body (5a) and rotating therewith, and the pressure-side cover disc (24) comprises at least one notch-like recess (26) for the vane (13) on the side (24a) facing the vane (13), said recess shaped according to the rear surface (22) and the profile of the vane (13), for a form-fitted connection thereto.
