[origin: EP2233683A2] The adapter has a base section provided on an adapter end at a distance from an engagement device (35), and a hollow cylindrical connecting sleeve section (25) connecting the base section and the engagement device. The connecting sleeve section comprises a threadlike inner profile, in part corresponding to a threaded outer profile on a shank, where adapter is formed by two element parts (22, 32) detachably connected to one another via a clutch device (41). A drill bit head is provided on one end of the shank with the threaded outer profile.
