Abstract (en)
A ballistic element (1) with sided and/or overlapped ceramic tiles (3) sided and an armoured structure (10) incorporating them provides an optimal compromise between projectile penetration resistance and thickness, and it comprises at least two overlapped layers (4, 5) formed by sided ceramic tiles, between said at least two layers (4, 5), an interface being provided between said at least two layers (4, 5), said interface comprising a space (7) filled with a elastomeric material and being tilted with respect to the longitudinal and transversal development of the ballistic element.
