Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2009065487A1] The invention relates to a projectile (1) having a projectile shell (3) in which an explosive charge (8) surrounded by a fragmentation cover (9) is disposed, wherein the fragmentation cover (9) is fixed to the projectile shell (3), and wherein the projectile (1) comprises a (first) ignition unit (11) adjacent to the explosive charge (8) to the rear for igniting the explosive charge (8). In order to disclose a projectile (1) that may be selectively used as a fragmentation projectile or as a projectile, wherein the effect of the pressure waves resulting from the explosion of the explosive charge (8) is used, the invention proposes that an ejection charge (15) and an explosive charge (8) that is axially displaceable relative to the fragmentation cover (9) be disposed in the projectile (1) that allow the explosive charge (8) to slide out of the projectile shell (3) at least far enough that said charge no longer acts on the fragmentation cover (9) that is fixed to the projectile shell (3).
