[origin: WO2009092722A1] Sigma delta pulse length modulator, comprising a signal input with a difference stage, the first input of which receives an analog input signal, said stage being configured to produce and output a difference signal corresponding to the difference of the signals at the inputs thereof, a forward loop filter for converting the difference signal to an analog filter output signal having a signal value, an analog-digital converter downstream of the forward loop filter, said converter being configured for the conversion of the analog filter output signal to a digital converter output signal containing two or more parallel bit component signals representing an overall digital value corresponding to the signal value assumed by the filter output signal, a digital pulse length modulator to which the converter output signal is sent at the input side thereof, the modulator being designed for converting the incoming converter output signal to a digital modulator output signal comprising an individual bit component signal and having a signal duration that represents the digital value corresponding to the signal value assumed by the analog filter output signal, and a reverse coupling loop that feeds an analog reverse coupling signal, which depends on the modulator output signal, to a second input of the difference stage.
