[origin: WO2009083149A2] The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transferring printed and/or embossed structures onto a security element, said apparatus comprising a printing or embossing cylinder (3) and a counter- pressure cylinder (5). The security element encompasses at least one substrate in the form of a continuous film (1), at least some areas of which are permeable to light and which is conveyed between the printing or embossing cylinder (3) and the counter-pressure cylinder (5). According to the invention, at least one pivotally adjustable roll (4) which overstretches the continuous film (1) towards one side is disposed before the printing or embossing cylinder (3) in the direction of travel of the continuous film (1) such that the continuous film (1) is inclined relative to the axis of the printing or embossing cylinder (3).
