[origin: WO2009094686A1] The invention relates to a damping element (1) for track construction, particularly a rail intermediate layer or a bed plate, comprising a base body having at least two edge parts (9, 10) and a center part (7), wherein the base body comprises a hard component (6) and a soft component (8) having elastic properties, the soft component having lower hardness than the hard component (6), and wherein the soft component (8) in the configuration of the damping element (1) as a rail intermediate layer forms a contact surface for a rail base of a rail (2). The center part (7) is made of the hard component (6) at least in some regions, and the two edge parts (9, 10) are made of the soft component (8) at least in some regions.
