[origin: EP2239434A1] The method involves manufacturing a base (7) of a housing (2) of an exhaust-gas treatment device (1) as a ball-shaped or ball segment-shaped cover (8). A connection opening (9) is formed in the cover, and a connection piece (10) is arranged at the cover in an area of the opening, where the connection piece is formed complementary to an outer contour of the cover. The connection piece with a connection end lies in a plane that is inclined opposite to a normal plane, where the normal plane stands perpendicular to a longitudinal middle axis (13) of the connection piece. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an exhaust-gas treatment device comprising a housing (2) an assembly set for manufacturing an exhaust-gas treatment device.
