Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2009092418A1] A stapler having a base part (1) and a top part (2) pivotally connected to the same, the free end (E) of which can be pushed down (lever mode) onto the base part (1) via a lever (3) for the force-reducing driving of a staple into a material to be stapled that is positioned on the base part (1), is configured according to the invention such that the stapler can be utilized for stapling without any lever force amplification in a second operating mode (base mode), and the lever (3) is placed on and fixed to the top part for this purpose. The stapling occurs via pressure that is exerted onto the free end (E) of the top part (2). A fixing element secures the selected mode. The lever (3) and/or the top part (2) may have an operating button (4) for changing between the lever mode and the base mode.
