[origin: EP2241401A1] A sanding machine (10) comprises a sanding unit (13; 32) provided with a sanding element (20) for sanding the aforesaid workpieces. In order to make replacing the sanding element (20) more rapid, slidable connecting elements are provided (27) for slidably connecting the sanding unit (13; 32) to the sanding machine (10) so that the sanding unit (13; 32) is movable between a retracted position in which the sanding element (20) is positioned inside the sanding machine (10) for sanding the aforesaid pieces and an extracted position (E) in which the sanding element (20) exits, at least partially, from the sanding machine (10) so as to be able to be replaced.
