Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2241426A1] The method involves exposing a cake e.g. chip cake or fiber cake, made of wood chips or wood fibers on a conveyor belt (2) to vacuum below a prepress (3) and in front of a hot press (5). An impregnating fluid is applied on the cake and is distributed due to the vacuum at the cake. The impregnating fluid is cross-linked during pressing. The impregnating fluid is sprayed on the chip cake or fiber cake by nozzles, where the fluid influences water absorption capacity and mechanical strength properties of a pressed wooden material board. An independent claim is also included for a system for manufacturing a wooden material board i.e. wood fiberboard.
