[origin: EP2241660A1] Provided is an edge yarn treatment device for a flatbed knitting machine, in which knitting yarns can be gripped and cut by driving two grippers and a cutter in a single operation of turning of a drive shaft. A left gripper unit (3) and the right gripper unit (4) have gripping portions (5 and 6) respectively. The left gripper unit (3) and the right gripper unit (4) can be moved laterally in a sliding manner along two drive shafts (7 and 8) extending over the needle bed gap (2). The gripping portions (5 and 6) are driven by turning of the drive shafts (7 and 8), respectively. The cutter (9) is driven to be opened or closed by turning of the drive shaft (8) for driving the gripping portion (6) of the right gripper unit (4) to move. The actions of gripping and cutting the knitting yarns by the two gripping portions (5 and 6) can be performed by the single operation of turning of the drive shafts (7 and 8).
