[origin: EP2243456A2] The table has a column (12) on which a table top is supported such that the table top is pivotable about an axis extending transversely to the table top and about an axis extending longitudinally to the table top. The table top is connected to the column via a joint i.e. pivot plate, having two joint parts (14A, 14B), where the joint is rotatable by 360 degrees about a vertical axis of rotation. A pivot axis of the joint has a horizontal orientation. The pivot axis is arranged eccentrically to a central axis of the column and/or eccentrically to the center of the table top.
