[origin: EP2246874A1] The plasma lamp has a light bulb (1) which contains a material suitable for plasma formation with a microwave-excitation radiation. A supply line is provided for supplying the microwave-excitation radiation to the light bulb. A reflector (11) partially surrounds the light bulb for aligning the light emitted from the plasma in the lamp bulb. The reflector is arranged within a microwave resonator (5). The microwave resonator is aligned with the reflector to an optimal energy input into the light bulb.
