Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009095230A2] The invention relates to a container for the discontinuous production of foamed material and to a method for the discontinuous production of foamed material using an inventive container. Said container comprises a horizontally arranged base (1) for receiving an expandable foam-forming reaction mixture and at least one vertically arranged lateral wall (4). The surface of the lateral wall (4) that is in contact with the expanding foam is movable in the vertical direction. Said lateral wall (4) comprises a flexible surface element (6) that can be extends between rotationally mounted rollers (7, 7'). Said container can be used, in particular for producing polyurethane block foam according to the 'box foaming' method.
