[origin: WO2009075587A1] The invention comprises a system for the draining of water from an arena (10) such as a riding paddock, a sand volley court, a football pitch and the like where on a substrate is applied a watertight barrier (11) in the form of a sheet or film of a plastic material. In connection with the said watertight barrier (H) on at least one side of an arena (10) is installed a side wall (15) which sticks up from the watertight barrier (11), the side wall (15) being so constructed as to form a watertight connection between the barrier (11) and the side wall (15) in order to drain away water and that the side wall(s) (15) is/are so constructed as to lock the barrier (11) against movement in a vertical and/or horizontal direction away from the side wall (15) when the side wall (15) is connected to the barrier (11). The invention also concerns the procedure for installation of such a system.
