[origin: WO2009100717A1] The invention relates to an acceleration and deceleration device (20) which has at least one energy store (32) and at least one piston (61, 81) which is guided in a cylinder (43) by means of a driving element, and also to a sliding door arrangement having an acceleration and deceleration device of said type. For this purpose, the acceleration and deceleration device has a second driving element (131, 111) which either guides a further piston, which is separate from the abovementioned piston, in the cylinder or guides the cylinder relative to the former piston. The present invention serves to develop a compact acceleration and deceleration device and also a sliding door arrangement having an acceleration and deceleration device of said type, which enables a controlled approach to end positions in two stroke directions.
