[origin: WO2009106051A2] A miniature housing, in the housing body of which an element that emits and/or receives electromagnetic radiation, has at least two electrical connecting devices that protrude laterally beyond the housing body. The passage side of the miniature housing, through which the element emits and/or receives, is disposed substantially perpendicular to the assembly plane of the miniature housing. The electrical connecting devices of the miniature housing protruding laterally beyond the housing body are connected in an electrically conductive manner to conductors, which bring about the direct contacting to the emitting and/or receiving element. The contacting surfaces of the connecting devices are therefore disposed substantially perpendicular to the passage side of the miniature housing. As a result of said arrangement, the miniature housing can be embedded at least partially in a support such that the miniature housing is no longer significant for the thickness of a lighting installation.
