Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009109196A1] The invention relates to a system and method for generating ultrasonic waves, in particular for cosmetic and therapeutic treatment, using an electrically controlled ultrasonic head that generates ultrasonic waves having at least two different frequencies f1, f2. A control unit switches between the at least two predetermined frequency values f1, f2 permanently or at least during predetermined periods of time. The invention is characterised in that after switching to the frequency f1 ultrasonic waves at said frequency are generated for a period of time T1 and after switching to the frequency f2 ultrasonic waves are generated at said frequency for a period of time T2 that is different from T1. The period of time associated with the higher frequency is longer than the period of time associated with the lower frequency.
