Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2009109170A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a navigation system comprising a receiving device in which an acoustic address input that consists of several input components can be registered. The input components of the address are analysed by a voice recognition module, and depending on the result of the voice recognition analysis, at least one geographic location, that is defined by an address having several address components, is selected from a data base for further processing. According to said method a) a street name and a house number are registered as input components of the acoustic address input and are analysed in the voice recognition module; b) the house number recognised in the voice recognition module is compared to the house numbers that are stored in the data base in relation to the street names recognised in the voice recognition module and is tested for match. If there is an erroneous match between the house number recognised in the voice recognition module and a house number stored in the data base in relation to the street name recognised in the voice recognition module, a replacement house number is automatically generated and is forwarded for further processing.
