[origin: EP2251112A1] The profile machine comprises a coupling stands (11) designed as manipulators. The coupling stands are provided with adjusting drives for adjusting upper or lower operating shafts (2,3) transverse to the axes-extending direction. The coupling stands are provided with other adjustment drives for adjusting frameworks (4) of side rolls. An independent claim is also included for a method for longitudinal forming of a metal band or starting profile into a profile or tube.
