[origin: EP2251940A1] An electrical connector comprising a plurality of terminals (2) connected to conductors (4), a connector housing (1), sealing means (3, 38) including a mat seal (3) for sealing around the conductors (4), a back plate (5) forming passages (58, 59) for the conductors (4), a peripheral seal (6), a TPA member (7) for locking the terminals (2), a hood (8), and a lever (9), the connector housing (1) having an extended housing cavity (13) that accommodates the mat seal (3) and the back plate (5), wherein a drain passage (16, 54) is created between the upper surface of the sealing means (3, 38) and the outside of the connector housing (1) for letting escape water that may have ingressed into the housing cavity (13) of the connector housing (1).
