[origin: WO2009109650A1] The invention relates to a pair of pliers that can be operated with one hand, comprising two limbs (2, 3), which upon power operation are latched to each other by means of an engagement part (5), wherein furthermore the limbs (2, 3) are guided to intersect each other by a guide of one limb (2) between a guide stop (6) and the engagement part (5), which are held on the other limb (3). In order to provide pliers that can be actuated with one hand, wherein advantageous latching between the engagement part and the matching toothing is achieved, it is proposed that the engagement part (5), together with the guide stop (6), is disposed on a mounting part (4) that can be moved relative to the other limb (3).
