[origin: EP2253384A1] The device has a conveying device (22) for moving a workpiece (18) in a longitudinal direction (20) of a suction chamber (10) through which the workpiece is guided. Application devices (42) apply a coating medium on a surface of the workpiece. A die plate (24) e.g. inlet die plate and/or the outlet die plate, is arranged at an inlet opening (14) and/or an outlet opening (16) of the suction chamber. The application devices are integrated in the die plate. The application devices comprise nozzles e.g. slot nozzles, that points the suction chamber.
