The device has a conveyor (14) for moving a workpiece (10) in a longitudinal direction (12) during a coating process. An applicator (16) is arranged for coating the workpiece with a coating die. The applicator is connected with a moving device (34) for moving in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece. The moving device exhibits a controller (40) for to-and-fro movement of the applicator, where the controller is designed as mechanical and/or electronic controller. The controller exhibits a hydraulic and/or a pneumatic cylinder (38), and the applicator is arranged on a carriage guide (42). An independent claim is also included for a method for coating an elongated workpiece.

Eine Beschichtungsvorrichtung für langgestreckte Werkstücke weist eine Fördereinrichtung (14) zum Bewegen der Werkstücke (10) in Längsrichtung (12) auf. Zum Beschichten, insbesondere Lackieren, des Werkstücks 10 ist ein Beschichtungsrahmen (16) vorgesehen, der das Werkstück (10) zumindest teilweise umgibt. Innerhalb des Beschichtungsrahmens (16) ist mindestens eine Beschichtungsdüse (20) angeordnet. Der Beschichtungsrahmen (16) ist mit einer Bewegungseinrichtung (34) zum Bewegen des Beschichtungsrahmens (16) in Längsrichtung während des Beschichtungsprozesses verbunden. Hierdurch kann die Qualität der Beschichtung verbessert werden. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung ein entsprechendes Verfahren zum Beschichten langgestreckter Werkstücke.
